Each event's organiser sells its tickets (see our Terms), so most refund decisions are theirs. This page explains what you can always count on, and how refunds work.
1. Cancelled events: a full refund
If an event, or the date you booked, is cancelled, you get a full refund: the ticket price, the service fee, the facility fee and HST. You don't need to ask; the refund goes back to the card you paid with.
2. Everything else: the organiser's policy
For any other reason, such as you can no longer go, or the event is postponed or moved, refunds are at the organiser's policy. Check the event page or ask us; we'll put you in touch with the organiser or ask them for you. If you can't make a postponed date and the organiser doesn't offer a refund, tell us and we'll see what we can do.
Nothing here limits any right to a refund you have under Ontario law.
3. How refunds are paid
- Whole orders only. We refund a whole order at once, every ticket and all fees and HST on it. We can't refund part of an order.
- The money goes back to the card you paid with, through Stripe. It usually shows on your statement within 5 to 10 business days.
- Once an order is refunded, its tickets stop working and the seats go back on sale.
- For events set up by an organiser, the refund is paid from the organiser's Stripe account, and we return our service fee with it, so you get back everything you paid.
4. Payments that arrive too late
If your payment goes through after your seat hold ran out and the seats were sold to someone else, we refund that payment in full automatically. You don't need to contact us.
5. Resale and transfers
We don't offer ticket transfers or resale through TicketWorld.ca yet. A ticket you bought from someone else can only be refunded to the person who paid for it, on the card they used.
6. Asking for a refund
Email [support email] with your booking reference (like “TW-7Q4M2X”, it is on your tickets and confirmation email) and the email address you used. Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank: a dispute can take weeks, and a refund from us is faster.
